Equivale, mais ou menos, ao conservadorismo, ao apego firme a formas transmitidas. \u00c9 ortodoxo aquele que permanece fiel \u00e0 formula\u00e7\u00e3o verdadeira e aut\u00eantica de um ensino, em oposi\u00e7\u00e3o aos que alteram o seu significado inicial e que se afastam dele.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt_paragr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Assim, toda ideologia dogm\u00e1tica &#8211; religiosa, social ou pol\u00edtica &#8211; esconde sua pr\u00f3pria ortodoxia. Por exemplo, fala-se de ortodoxia luterana, freudiana ou marxista, para designar o apego (conservador, e em geral est\u00e9ril) \u00e0s formula\u00e7\u00f5es de Lutero, Freud ou Marx, um apego contraposto \u00e0s interpreta\u00e7\u00f5es ulteriores e \u00e0s transforma\u00e7\u00f5es criativas das ideias originais.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt_paragr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Invoca-se ordinariamente a ortodoxia gabando-se de ser fiel ao verdadeiro e aut\u00eantico. Isto traduz a exig\u00eancia de um reconhecimento comum e de um respeito dos valores transmitidos, mas tamb\u00e9m em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos homens que os preservam e representam. Assim a ortodoxia chega a funcionar como um meio de justifica\u00e7\u00e3o \u00fatil, n\u00e3o tanto para as ideias conservadoras, quanto para pessoas conservadoras, servindo para mascarar psicologicamente uma falta de aud\u00e1cia ou uma esterilidade espiritual. Aqueles que n\u00e3o ousam ou n\u00e3o podem criar algo novo na sua vida se agarram fanaticamente a uma certa ortodoxia. Tiram dela um peso, uma autoridade e, finalmente, um poder, se tornando representantes intendentes da autenticidade, defensores das formas, int\u00e9rpretes da letra. Acabam transformando a dita ortodoxia num \u201cleito de Procusta\u201d sobre o qual amputam a vida para adapt\u00e1-la \u00e0s exig\u00eancias do dogma.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt_paragr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esta interpreta\u00e7\u00e3o da ortodoxia e os sinais que a acompanham s\u00e3o consequ\u00eancia de uma certa concep\u00e7\u00e3o da verdade e das possibilidades de aceder a ela. Ela pressup\u00f5e a capacidade para o homem de deter individualmente a verdade e, portanto, de transform\u00e1-la num objeto que ele poder\u00e1 dominar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt_paragr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para poder ser transformada num objeto possu\u00eddo, a verdade tem que ter um car\u00e1ter dado e definitivo, se identificar \u00e0 sua formula\u00e7\u00e3o, \u00e0 \u201cletra\u201d mesma da sua formula\u00e7\u00e3o; a verdade deve encontrar seus limites inamov\u00edveis dentro da sua formula\u00e7\u00e3o. A identifica\u00e7\u00e3o com uma formula\u00e7\u00e3o definitiva objetiviza a verdade. Faz dela um objeto que a intelig\u00eancia pode possuir e dominar. Assim, a forma perfeita de posse da verdade \u00e9 o apego \u00e0 ortodoxia, \u00e0 objetiva\u00e7\u00e3o inicial e aut\u00eantica.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt_paragr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Semelhante concep\u00e7\u00e3o da verdade e das possibilidades de aceder caracteriza e tamb\u00e9m funda a nossa civiliza\u00e7\u00e3o atual, a civiliza\u00e7\u00e3o chamada \u201ceuro-ocidental\u201d, de dimens\u00f5es universais. Todavia, ela n\u00e3o tem rela\u00e7\u00e3o nenhuma com a Igreja e a ortodoxia eclesial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt_paragr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">O apofatismo da verdade eclesial, de que falamos nas p\u00e1ginas anteriores, exclui toda concep\u00e7\u00e3o objetivada da ortodoxia. A verdade n\u00e3o se esgota na sua formula\u00e7\u00e3o, que nada mais \u00e9 do que uma fronteira-limite da verdade, um \u201cenvelope\u201d ou uma \u201csalvaguarda\u201d daquela. A realidade que nunca \u00e9 desmentida nela mesma, \u00e9 verdade. A vida que n\u00e3o \u00e9 abolida pela morte \u00e9 verdade, e de maneira \u00faltima.
